The seeing sideways course, as the name implies, is about seeing things from a new perspective. Too many times in life and certainly in college a student gets used to running through their courses in the grooves of the tracks they have already laid. If things are just about getting from A to B the fastest many new experiences, inspirations, and opportunities will be left at the wayside. As we discovered in the class sometimes inspiration can be something that is lost all together if life is just about churning out work. The class was an excellent reminder to keep your life and ideas fresh, applying this credo to ideas greatly outside the standard new media context. Rarely do you get the opportunity of a reminder of yourself and the creative process that spans an entire semester, this reminder will remain with you long after the class and is hopefully something you can take with you moving into the future.
